Thanksgiving

After work on Wednesday I headed up to Salt Lake to pick Shaun up from the Tracks station. Shaun rode the tracks up after work and then we met in Salt Lake. Then he drove the rest of the way up to the Cabin in Wanship Utah. It is just east of Park City on the I-80 East. As we started driving it began snowing and by the time we were up Parleys canyon it was a blizzard. I was glad that Shaun was driving, he has a lot more experience driving in the snow than I do.

It was very chill at the cabin and I loved it! We played countless card games, watched tons of football games (Which I actually really enjoy), and movies. One little thing I did not mention was the FOOD! Everything EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT was delicious! When we got there that very night Rachelle had made Zupa Tuscano (This very delicious soup from Olive Garden) It has potatoes, Kale, spicy sausage, onions, etc. Along with that she had garlic bread ( I think I ate like 5 of them!) It was the perfect meal for it being so cold outside.

The next day was Thanksgiving!! We had an amazing breakfast and then started cooking and relaxing! We had the most amazing turkey thanksgiving dinner ever! Amazing rolls, stuffing, mash potatoes, and endless pies. I made an oreo creme pie and that was a hit! We also had pecan, fruit, and a to DIE for Apple pie with carmel, brown sugar and almond topping. I think I gained like 10 pounds from all the food I had eaten. That night I asked Shaun if you could have a stomach ache for eating too much to which he replied, of course! :)

On the day after Thanksgiving (aka Black Friday) we decided to #optoutside just like REI decided to do. We played in the snow making snow men/ fort and went sledding down the hill. We drove the Artic Cat way high up the hill in front of our house and then we sled down it. It was a blast and we got going very quickly.

This was the view from our front porch, which was absolutely breath taking. I think it looks like a winter wonderland.

Saturday night Shaun and I made a quick trip to Park City and stopped at Smiths and got some groceries and gas. On our way back we stopped up the canyon and took this photo. I sure am grateful for my sweetheart. I love him and how he is so kind and patient with me. I sure scored in the husband department :)

Shaun & Kaitlin
Brandon & Katherine (Lilly)
Rocky & Rachelle
Justin & Beckam, Brianna & Kate

Sunday after church we decided to take a quick family photo. Got to love Self Timer. I am thankful for wonderful in laws. Baby Beckam was born 3 weeks ago and doing great! Mostly all he does is sleep. I think every time I looked over at him he was sleeping. Kate and Lilly are the absolute cutest! They are both at such a fun age right now where they giggle and just want to play. Not to mention Kate says the cutest things. Every once and a while she would do something silly and then ask us, "Was that funny?" in her cute little voice. I can't get enough of her!

Thanksgiving weekend was wonderful! It was so nice to be at the Cabin, it kind of made me forget about the stresses of life, such as School for Shaun and Work. It was very relaxing. I loved spending time with the Rhodes. Rocky and Rachelle are some of the most genuinely nice people I know. I cant get enough of my nieces and cute little nephew. I can't wait for the day that Shaun and I start a family of our own. For now ill just enjoy our nieces and nephew.

I am grateful for my Savior. It is him that I owe everything to! I am thankful for his sacrifice and that atonement that makes everything such as family possible. I am thankful for the prophet President Thomas S. Monson and for his guidance and Council. I am grateful for The Book of Mormon and how we can read it and apply it to our lives everyday. I am Thankful for my loving supportive Husband Shaun. Especially through all these changes this past year. He has been there every step of the way. I have so much to be grateful for.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Remember HE is the reason for the Season!
